Hansel & Gretel
(2019)
In a world where poverty forces parents to neglect their children and children to work, Hansel and Gretel spend their days with nothing to eat but plenty to sew. The father always arrives late and the mother is always exhausted. In an act of desperation she sends them off to look for fruits in the mysterious neighbouring forest where powerful beings like to celebrate their banquets. All by themselves the siblings face the dangers of a sweet world of temptations. Their stomachs rumble and, blinded by the images that surround them, they fall into the trap of a special lady who knows a lot about baking -and marketing-. She is also hungry but her diet, in the latest fashion, is somewhat special: she prefers meat to fruits, especially if it is tender…
